Amazon Coming to Pakistan 2020
Amazon is bringing its cloud computing business and web services to Pakistan to influence public policy to strengthen digital transformation. The decision comes after Amazon services in Pakistan, along with other countries, were disrupted.
The move comes two weeks after the technology company faced global disruptions, which completely affected parts of the United States and Pakistan.
According to the SECP database, the Pakistan office is headed by Paul Andrew McPherson as CEO and Shoaib Munir as director with McPherson.

AWS Public Policy team is in the lead role to help customers by maximizing the benefits of cloud service by eradicating regulatory and political blockers to cloud adoption.
“We do this by working with governments as they develop and revise policies related to the digital economy, including cloud-first policies, data protection regulations, outsourcing guidelines, cybersecurity policies, tax policy, and over the top regulations,” the company said it on the job description.
Amazon is looking forward to work with the Pakistan government as the country is developing and revising policies associated with the digital economy, which also includes cloud-first policies, data regulation, data protection, cybersecurity rules, tax policy, outsourcing guiding principles, and regulations. The team will also remain in contact with politicians, influencers, and policymakers.
